What's the Big Plan?
I often speak of big goals: I want to grow the Academy to 1000 members, raise a million dollars for the Mega Foundation, and grow the CTMU Media Network to a million subscribers across all platforms.
But, as they say, “A goal without a plan is just a wish.” So what’s the plan?
They say you can’t plan for more than 2-3 years in the future, so this is my plan for my role in the CTMU Compatriots movement before I turn 18 years old (6/4/2026).
First, I get a full education through teaching (which is better for learning than studying) advanced CTMU, science, math, philosophy, theology, liberal arts, and more. I will teach Everything in the Academy or be taught by the other instructors, so I won’t miss any of the content in the Five Paths.
Ideally, I’ll be done with most of my share of the course material in around a month because I’m going to summer camp after this, where I won’t be thinking as much about the CTMU, to be honest with you.
The ‘study’ part involves achieving perfect personality crystalization: love, wisdom, and understanding. It involves intense ethical and emotional training, the study of 30+ selected books (not including the books in my self-education plan, detailed on another post), all available CTMU material, publishing two of my own books, insanely disciplined learning and teaching, organization/leadership of the Academy, service in my community, religious devotion, and more. These are all training for a greater role in leadership. I need to deserve my role as a leader in the movement.
Once I get back from camp, we’ll create a tightly networked CTMU media coalition, hopefully including Langan as its chief spokesperson, all of the founders and administrators of Compatriot Academy, and trying to reach 200,000+ subscribers on YouTube with high-quality CTMU instructional material, inspirational and motivational content, and many interviews to introduce many of the people in CTMU-adjacent communities to our own, broadening the reach of our movement.
We won’t put any calls to action (“Please join Compatriot Academy!”) in our content or even mention it in our videos. We’ll just focus on making killer content and putting the link in our descriptions and bios, and the community will grow. You can picture the channels as a ‘funnel’ to the Academy that are also good-in-themselves because they teach about the CTMU. The top of the funnel (lots of views, little depth) is making content for views. This hooks people in. The middle of the funnel is higher-quality, long-form content (podcasts, lectures, etc.) that gives more in-depth instruction, and then – when people we’ll just put the link in the description and bio, so the most engaged ‘students’ on YouTube will join the Academy for further instruction. Also, every $1-2k donated to the Mega Foundation means that we can book Langan for an interview for a CTMU Media interview. Once we get past a few hundred subscribers, this will mean that the Compatriot Academy will be very tightly networked with the CTMU movement and the Mega Foundation.
We have many people lined up as instructors for Compatriot Academy, including philosophy professors and experts, teachers in debate skills, evolution and biology, crypto entrepreneurs, and more. We will offer (as we do now):
  1. Access to instructors
  2. Exclusive content
  3. Exclusive events
  4. Community forum
Our target audience for whom we will calibrate our message is not CTMU people per sé, but people who feel they have been rejected by the university system but are highly intelligent and motivated and still want a full-depth education. We want to replicate the Jordan Peterson phenomenon where disaffected men who would never sit through a class or a church service without falling asleep watched his 15-part lecture series on the Bible because he came across as intelligent, well-spoken in the language of the people, clear and prescient, and without any concern. The CTMU has to become as popular as Peterson and more if we want to have any chance of succeeding whatsoever. And we can do it.
Basically, the plan is four steps:
  1. Get to be a really knowledgeable and competent person who people want to listen to
  2. Make viral content in close coalition with other CTMU creators and CTMU-adjacent communities
  3. Funnel people in by creating a university program that’s better than top colleges for 1/4000th the price. All instructors and top students are engaged in the community every single day, building connections, brotherhood, and knowledge.
  4. Repeat. Continue to grow the CTMU University and CTMU Media Empire in lockstep with each other.
“Open your eyes and see the light, son. You're not in Kansas any more. We need a movement, and every movement needs supporters, proselytizers, and promoters.” — Chris Langan.
In short, how do you make a community grow? Overdeliver.
What are your ideas for scaling the CTMU movement? Anything I missed?
