🆘 Stripe HELP
I have to give context for this to make sense. I set up payments here on Skool via Stripe Express back in April. No issues.
Then, I started getting affiliate payments. By accident, I connected my OLD Stripe account... which had been connected to Kajabi.
Stripe sent me an email explaining the following:
"It’s important that we know what your business is selling, in order to make sure that it’s supportable under our Services Agreement. Specifically, we are unable to accept payments for businesses that our banking partners consider predatory, as mentioned on our Restricted Businesses List.
Please complete the form using the link below to provide some additional details about your business. You can also access this form directly from your Stripe Dashboard."
So I filled out the form THINKING it was in response to my Skool community payments. But it was actually regarding the affiliate payouts. I filled out the form and explained the nature of my business and my community.
They responded by shutting down my account. No recourse. Just a "too bad, so sad" type email.
Then, Eric, from the Skool support team, helped me to connect my affiliate payments to my OTHER Skool Stripe account (Stripe Express).
This was 3 weeks ago. Then, this morning, I got the SAME email from Stripe requesting I fill out a form to let them know about my business. Because of what happened before, I'm concerned that no matter what I say, they'll shut me down.
This obviously would be devastating. I have 98 paying members in my community. And I rely on this income to support my family. I am NOT violating any "restricted businesses" rules. My community is about building online businesses, improving communication and strengthening mindset.
For some reason, it seems to be the affiliate payouts that are flagging my account.
If ANYBODY can advise me on HOW to fill out the form to ensure Stripe doesn't shut me down, I would be most appreciative!
Also, if they do close my account, what should I do??
I've been brainstorming with my wife in anticipation of the worst case scenario. Should we open up another bank account and try again?
Has anyone else experienced the same sort of issue?
