Hello Skool Support Team,
I am currently using a two-community model on Skool: one free community and one paid community. I have an automated direct message (DM) set up to send when a new member joins the free community. However, I've encountered an issue when members join the paid community afterward.
Problem: Skool's policy states, "If a conversation already exists, we won't send the message." This prevents a new automated DM from being sent to those who previously received a welcome DM when joining the free community. As a result, these new paid members do not receive the welcoming and instructional message that I want them to get.
Request for Assistance: Is there a way to configure Skool so that a new automated DM can be sent when a member joins the paid community, even if they already have an existing conversation from joining the free community?
Alternatively, are there any recommended workarounds or integrations that could help me ensure new paid members receive their welcome instructions seamlessly?
WHY?
Many members don't fully understand how the point system works when they join the Paid community. As a result, they may feel frustrated, thinking that their payment should grant them instant access to all content. To prevent this, an automated direct message (DM) should be sent as soon as they join.
This message will direct them to a post in the community featuring a video that explains how the platform and point system work, as well as the reasons behind it.
Providing this information early on will help new members feel informed and reduce potential confusion or complaints. Since I am not always online to check each new member that joins, this automated approach ensures everyone gets the necessary information without delay.
