Use your unfair advantage
When putting together the idea for your community, it helps if you have an unfair advantage in the field where you're planning to set up camp.
You don't have to have an unfair advantage - something that other groups in the same area will struggle or find impossible to replicate - but as you can imagine, it helps.
With Community Starters, the idea is more for me to share knowledge I gather about Skool as I go. And for all of us to share our ideas and pool resources. That's a perfectly valid model.
With my fiction writing group Phantasia Writing Lounge, though, I can draw on decades of experience as a writer.
I am currently mulling a third community which would draw on the 14 years I spent as a rock journalist.
I still have most of my interview cassette tapes from that 1988-2002 period and have been digitising them. The new group's Classroom would be a great place to host these for paying members.
And so, as those tapes are something that literally no-one else has, they lend me an unfair advantage in this case.
What kind of field do you have an unfair advantage in?
And if you haven't started your community yet, could that advantage help sway your decision as to what to build? ๐Ÿ‘Š
P.S. This week I plan to make two or three free half-hour Zoom calls available to Community Starters members who have yet to start their Skool group. Will post about this later, but DM me if you're keen to take action and grab a slot fast, so we can talk about your community idea(s)!
