Retrieving information from a url

OpenAI gives the impression you can retrieve information from a specific url. See https://openai.com/product and click on Longer text. They give the prompt

[Text from: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Rihanna] Describe her Super Bowl performance and what made it special.

I don't believe this actually works because you can get the same answer more or less without using [Text from...]. I tried asking questions based on some obscure urls and it simply doesn't work. Does anyone have an idea what is going on here? Are we being misled? Or am I missing something?
