I have been involved in recruiting / executive search for over 35 years, working to assist people to advance their careers ranging from entry-level to C Suite senior management equity positions. The labor market is tightening again and candidates are constantly asking what they need to do to gain an edge when competing for a new position. So many people simply submit their resume to an ATS system and "hope and pray" for a positive response. Guess what? Most resumes are never seen by a human, as they are rejected by an ATS system programmed to eliminate all those that do not contain a certain number of key words. Every other resume is deleted, without the courtesy of a rejection letter, or at best they receive a form rejection email. Ever notice how most job openings posted on Linked-in, Indeed, or other sites immediately have 200 to 1,000 applicants within minutes? What are the odds your resume will be noticed in that mess? Why not create a marketing campaign where only your resume is viewed, and then by a human decision maker? Sharing the knowledge I have gained working with hiring managers across the country over the decades who are filling full time positions or contract project requirements is the goal of this community. Naturally some people will want a more personal experience and I will be creating a cost-effective subscription option for those who want custom resume writing up to and including a personal marketing campaign. My goal is to help as many people as possible as in my opinion the U.S. is heading into a situation similar to 2007-2009 (only it will be much worse this time).
