Educational Curriculum and Instruction at Northern Illinois university focuses on curriculum development, instructional strategies, educational assessment and educational technology.
I have been a class room teacher for 10 years now and I have encountered so many challenges on identifying the ideal instructional material and pedagogical methods that suit diverse learners in my community. The curriculum we use here are somewhat outdated and a lot of research is going on in the educational system especially in curriculum design and educational technology which I will like to explore as a teacher especially in my home community where technological education is a growing idea.
So studying this programme at an advance level will make me more effective in the class room, assessing my learners and tailoring my instruction towards the learning needs of my students and using current technological tools to make learning fun in the class room.
