What will your Skool Group be about?
I have had a Christian mens group that meets on Saturday mornings for the last 7 years. Most of the crowd has quite a bit of silver hair. We do some service projects in addition to our discussions, but we've also wanted to get more involved with helping to mentor younger men to help them be better husbands and fathers. Lots of one off relationships here and there but no clear strategy. A recent epiphany has led us to decide rather than the fairly complicated mentor/mentee paradigm that we should pursue the idea of being "Lifelong Apprentices to Jesus Christ" creating the idea that we are all at the same level but at different stages of our journey.
My vision is to build a skool community with a first level of free resources including supportive conversations and prayer requests with some initial "course" material. Then, a paid level with a more advanced curriculum and other benefits. The proceeds would fund the start-up and activity of our actual 501-c3 non-profit which will be called "Men For His Kingdom."
I decided to put this out there in writing to help strengthen my commitment to doing my part to make it happen. Feel free to comment, but most of all, it would be great to hear about everyone's ideas for their skool groups. Certainly hoping there will be an "Abundance" mentality in the group rather than a "Scarcity" mentality. Have a Blessed day!
