Job board recommendations
Does anyone have recommendations for job board sites? I'm familiar LinkedIn, zip recruiter, and indeed. Looking for something geared more toward hybrid or remote work.

Q for Sept 2024 Q&A Call
Can you please provide negotiating points on how to set the best contract/consulting rates? I have already researched from the conventional wisdom perspective, so, do you have an AWGB perspective that provides a different lens that helps shift the 1099 paradigm? FYI, luckily, I am working with very friendly and reasonable people. There is no friction in my particular situation. However, I started at a rate that’s probably too low and I’m raising my rate now that my first SOW is complete. I want to make the new deal good for both sides without putting myself on sale. The organization is a non-profit so there are real limits to what is possible. My skills/offering is in software Product Strategy/Management.

❓Experience 10yrs Ago
Hey AWR Community 👋 Hope all is well! A recruiter from a company that you would like to work with sent you an email to schedule an interview. It's more like a screening to see if you would be a good fit for the position that's only requiring 2yrs exp. You did this type of work for 5yrs in the same industry over 10 years ago. Oh and you want to get back into that line of work. How would you address this during an interview?

Action planning?
My manager loves to do "action planning" and he pushes me to do it with my own team. He thinks unless they are performing perfectly which is impossible then they need to be on an informal action plan. Every time our results are less than the goal no matter how small or for how long we have to write up an action plan for him. It creates more work, more emails, more tasks, etc. This method trickles down. Like many corporations, our metrics are unattainable. They also change throughout the year. The goal post moves. They've changed our official goals twice this year when they hired new leadership. One metric we don't even have a goal for yet and it's basically August. Some of the goals they have are also out of employee control much of the time, like surveys. They also love to "dangle the carrot" which I hate. Anyone else's company do something different? Is there a better way?
