Hi all,
I realize this might be a bit of an off-topic, but I'm just wondering what course of action (if any) I can take right now. Today, my little shop was suspended. I already had approximately 50 digital designs listed on it. As you probably know, Etsy is brutal when it comes to communication, so I didn't get the email they were supposed to send with regard to the reason.
After I made my first sale over the weekend, I proceeded to try to verify my account. I looked at my bank account all day yesterday to see if any amount had been deposited, yet none had. Today I worked on my shop as usual, and all of a sudden I see the red banner with the account suspension.
Since no one bothered to tell me the reason, I can only presume:
- A glitch from Etsy that suspends all new accounts that get their bank accounts verified - oddly enough, I was able to find the deposit and verify the bank account even with my shop being suspended. Should I have hope that it's going to be automatically reinstated in the future?
- My bad - using mockup photos from Canva, although I made sure to use only the ones for Pro users to avoid infringing the 'don't use stock photos rule'.
- I might have messed up by putting some of the items in the Clip Art category and selecting a few or all crafts (I was stupid enough to think that the item was made for those crafts, not that I used those crafts to design it).
I tried contacting someone through the Help Center but all I could get in return was an automated response. Still no email with a reason for the suspension...
Anyway, if this isn't too much of a ramble and it doesn't get deleted by the admin, has anyone gone through something like this, should I still have some hope? I was so excited about my little shop, especially after getting my first sale...
UPDATE: I filed an appeal and provided as much information as possible and my account was reinstated in about two hours. I don't know if I can trust this to be permanent, but at least I'm feeling some relief for now. The email said that it was an error on their part, so I think it must've been the bank account verification that wasn't quick enough for them.
