Accountability Partners are like potato chips...
I'm not an expert, I just play one on the internet...

OK, yes, I'm a dad, but my jokes aren't JUST dad jokes - they are BAD dad jokes!
But seriously folks...
My title alludes to the old Lay's Potato Chips marketing line that "you can't have just one"!
But in reality, you CAN have just one - IF - you are disciplined (and have some pretzels or peanuts next to that bag of chips). BA-DUM-TISH! Enough jokes, let's do this thing...
As soon as I signed up, I looked at the "Introduce Yourself" (link) thread and saw some people that seemed to fit with my creative vibe. I reached out to via the CHAT thingy & we had a chat & partnered up!
Lucky for me, he got down to brass tacks pretty quick & declared his goals for the weekend & the coming week. They were SMART goals! SMART goals are Specific, Measurable, Achievable, Relevant, and Time-Bound. Great stuff on YouTube RE: SMART goals!
He also asked, "What do you need accountability on from me?"
That was like a glass of cold water to my face & it felt great!
I built a SaaS product several years ago w/ a developer dude but he wasn't a good Accountability Partner... sometimes we were antagonist vs antagonist & sometimes we were in sync. Ultimately, we built an MVP and demo'd the app for several prospects who basically told us, "...your app takes away our completive advantage to screw over bidders who made mistakes & forcing a fair market among the subcontractors...", but that's another story!
Long story Long - why are Accountability Partners like potato chips?
Because you can't have just one!
Reach out to several people, chat for a bit & maybe "antagonize" each other a little until you sync & if you never sync, move on to another Accountability Partner!
SIDE NOTE: Consider using TEAMS, ZOOM, Discord, slack, etc. to get on mic & talk to each other.
I assume you have SMART goals (see above) and you want to hit them.
I have several goals in several different areas & will be reaching out to talk with potential Accountability Partners who have a focus on building a SaaS app & another who is focused on writing fiction vs another who is focused on writing non-fiction books vs my current accountabila-buddy who's strength is "...video producer looking to use AI for video projects..."
WHAT'S MY POINT?
Different strokes, may require different folks!
Some folks might putter out on you & some might push too hard.
If one guy don't fly - find another guy!
If one guy is a one trick pony, but you have more than one trick up your sleeve, find more guys with more ponies!
Online classes like this have an "ebb & flow". Sometimes there is more ebb than flow, but remember that old saying about pointing a finger at someone? Yeah, there are 3 fingers pointing right back at you!
Are you doing your part in the relationship or are you a bulldozer (that's my M.O.) or wall-flower?
Some relationships are instant & some take time, so do yourself a favor & reach out to a few people & see how it goes over time... there may be a chance to have a 3-4-7 way meetings among this group on various meeting platforms. You can schedule daily huddles / 2x per week / Mondays, etc.
BOTTOM LINE: One chip is delicious! More chips = more deliciousness!
NEXT UP = One Ai gives us the low down on Accountability Partners!
