I’m sure as a business owner you have heard the terms “systems” and “leverage” five times every day. In my opinion they are thrown around pretty loosely so I will try and clear it up for new business owners
Systems: At their core, are just the processes you have in place to run your operations. This could include things like your client onboarding process or client acquisition.
The key benefit of having solid systems is that they make your business more efficient and less reliant on you personally.
Leverage is about multiplying the impact of your time and resources. It's about finding ways to do more with less. Get more bang for your buck
Some examples of leverage in business:
- Outsourcing tasks
- Automating repetitive work with AI
The idea behind leverage is to free up your own time and energy so you can focus on the high-value, high-impact parts of your business. Rather than doing everything yourself, you find ways to get more done with the same amount of effort.
