Rent control
Hi all, I have a quick question regarding raising rents. If I were to purchase an investment property, am I able to immediately increase rents to market value if they are very low? or am I limited by the 2.5% increase per year? I currently live in Ontario, but how would this differ between provinces? (This is for properties older than Nov 2018.)

@Bev Hepburn I live in the GTA, but not looking at this market. The problem I'm seeing with so many properties is there are long term renters that are paying extremely low rents compared to the market value. Making the the properties unattractive as an investment
