@Sayuri Ayers wow, that’s impressive! Congrats on winning the award and getting your pitch accepted by the literary journal.

After a long dry spell, I got another pitch accepted and submitted my first draft a couple of weeks ago. Will get feedback on it by the end of this week and final draft is due 3/15. $1/word, 750-1000 words!
Create Your Own Best of 2023 List
https://wendigordon.substack.com/p/fill-in-the-blanks-to-make-your-best This list helped me realize that even though 2023 mostly sucked, there were some good things in my life. Readers said it helped them too, so I decided to share it here.

Introductions ⭐
This is the introduction thread. Say hi, tell us where you’re from and what your writing is all about! In your introduction, answer these 4 questions: ➡️ What is your name (preferred pronouns as well, if you don't mind) ➡️ Why did you decide to join The Unexpected Shape Café? ➡️ What is your favorite book? ➡️ What are you interested in writing about? We can’t wait to meet you! If you'd like to share anything else as well, feel free! And welcome!

@Alison Lyons welcome. I live in the Houston area and am intrigued by your app idea.

Nice to meet you, too! Since you’re a book blogger you may want to consider creating an online shop on bookshop.org featuring the books you blog about. It’s an Amazon alternative that supports independent bookstores, so it’s also a great place to buy books and audiobooks.
Is there a gift you’d like?
I’m trying to think of a gift I can create (that’s not a workshop; I have too iffy of wifi while abroad right now) that would be lovely for all of you. Is there anything that you’d love to receive? A PDF or ebook? Let me know! And if you see something that someone else suggests that you’d love as well, weigh in! 🌱💕

@Pairaw K I doubt @Esme Wang would give each of us a book - that’s asking a lot! But you can borrow tons of books for free, including that one, as ebooks or audiobooks, via Libby, a free phone app. And if you read them on Kindle like I do, then your highlights and notes are still accessible on Amazon after you’ve returned the books.

@Pairaw K that would still be quite an expensive gift to give all of us.
