Getting Clients to See the Value in Local SEO
Hello fellow marketers! I’ve been so focused on client work that I’ve neglected growing the SEO side of my own business. Now that I’m diving back in, I’m noticing a lot of resistance to SEO services—particularly Local SEO. I’m targeting service-based businesses (like electricians and plumbers), but despite highlighting the benefits of ranking higher in local searches and attracting nearby customers, I’m struggling to get traction (and struggling to get time in with these busy businesses!). Have you experienced this resistance, and if so, how did you overcome it? Do you have any strategies for getting clients through the door and helping them see the value of Local SEO? Looking forward to learning from your insights!

I’m looking for a basic tool that can easily show impact: so when I show a customer what ranking higher for their main keywords could mean in terms of traffic, it’s an easy calculation. So it would need to find current rank (or integrate with Search Console), and CTR for the keyword and then do the calculation in terms of i.e. moving you from spot #8 to spot #5 would get you X amount of additional traffic. That would help us sell the value of what we do:)

I'd love to know how to build a free tool on my website, that helps people with a part of local SEO i.e. review management, just to drive traffic to my site (and hopefully offers!).

@Jonathan Boshoff OMG it just hit me. This knowledge would mean I could hit larger companies with multiple locations and multiple service offers, and create all those pages for them - without a team! 🤩 Mindset shift!!

Thank you Jonathan for creating this group and sharing your amazing knowledge and time with us! I'm a digital marketer specializing in local SEO - well until I ran out of clients😬 I want to learn some new tricks to try to revive that part (or any part) of my business. I threw in the towel a couple of months ago to return to the workforce, but then the company did major layoffs. It's like I threw in the towel and the universe threw it back in. LOL. But yeah, desperate for client work over here🤦♀️
