🌟Andromeda, the divine caretaker of stars. She's part of an automaton species of interstellar beings who watch over planets and celestial bodies to ensure they maintain stability. With her gauntlets, she can manipulate the energy of stars and nebulas to prevent calamity. The material of her form has high-temperature resistance to withstand the strongest of stars and the cold of space. The inside of her skull holds a star representing the sector of the galaxy that they maintain, being able to communicate with other caretakers of the same galaxy. These references were super pretty to use as inspiration! For Andromeda herself I mostly referenced the shiny purple helmet and the cog as a hat on a mechanical android-like base. The gauntlets are based on the rock, and the helmet reference also inspires the open plates on the palms. This was an enjoyable way to exercise my creative exploration skills. I hope to be able to join the next one ehe ^^

Ricochet is a demi human forged from the remains of a burning star. He possesses the power of the Vanquished, and wields the sword of the burning star, which symbolizes justice, to purify souls buried so deep in darkness and corruption. With each swing, he conquers the shadows, bathes the land in the light of Hope, Truth and restores harmony and balance to the world. Or unless, that takes a turn..and He, himself gets corrupted within his core. After going through art block, I didn't want to hinder my progress. So I did this challenge to pick me right up again. I slowly started with this Design, taking my time doing it. I was inspired by the rocks reference image. Using it as a part on the character, and using its liquid golf colour scheme to complete the look of my character. Definitely love the outcome of this.

For this week's challenge, I knew I wanted to design something that looked more mechanical. Early iterations I took more inspiration from the amphipod, moving in a direction that was similar to the ecology of Horizon Zero. In that exploration I found myself trying to incorporate more of the megaphone, either physically with sound systems on/in the creature to conceptually, with how it may have used sonar/echolocation. Eventually I moved from an animalistic design to more humanoid, and trying to implement more of the megaphone and sounds into the design. Using the amphipod's exoskeleton as a inspiration on the layering of the armor plates and some of he colors as well. With the final design I tried drawing further inspiration from Gundams/Mechas, and Echo Echo from Ben 10. And implemented the ring with how some of the bits that hold the gem look like they're floating.
