How Can I Improve My PMax Campaigns to Increase ROAS?
Hi everyone, I'm currently struggling to improve the ROAS of my Performance Max (PMax) campaigns. I’ve set a target ROAS for these campaigns, as they tend to spend a lot on broad targeting, which has resulted in a poor ROAS overall. At the moment, my strategy involves running multiple PMax campaigns, each focused on a different product category. Has anyone had success with this type of approach, or can you recommend any adjustments to make PMax campaigns more efficient? Specifically, I’m interested in any tips to control spend more effectively and drive up the ROAS. Thanks in advance for your insights!

I would scale with PMax campaigns not with bids
Shopping or Pmax?
Hey guys When starting a new account do you start with standard shopping or Pmax? Some people on youtube suggest starting with Pmax. Some say it's a better foundation to start with shopping. What do you suggest? And if you start with Pmax, is it full build or feed only? Thanks

I would go PMax and my targeting would be Custom Segments with URLs of competitor products and or services build out a list of 10+ urls as well as in-market targeting for the niche too. I do this for a Luxury brand and have done shopping vs PMax with it. Pmax usual out performs (But you need to remove Mobile Apps!) Just my opinion and my experience
Targeted location question
I have a dilemma that I haven't encountered before. The company creates trade show booths for companies, but the kicker is that they only want to attract people exhibiting at Las Vegas locations. Usually, I would just set the targeted location to Las Vegas and call it a day, but in this instance, the people searching could be anywhere in the US and exhibiting in Vegas. Right now, I have the keywords all set up with Las Vegas in each of them and the targeted location set to the United States, but is that the right way? If I changed the targeted location to Las Vegas and removed the city from the keywords, would I still get the same results since the people were likely looking at other Las Vegas sites beforehand?

Yes I think that would work, you could also (If not already done so) switch the location options to people interested in the location and then negative out every country in the world. This should have the same effect you're wanting. I use this https://gist.github.com/marijn/396531/188caa065e3cd319fed7913ee3eecf5eec541918 Just need to make sure you remove USA from the Negative list (Yup i've done that before)
Max Conversions really overspending
Hey guys, i recently switched to a max conversion's strategy with a TCPA, to try and get more conversion volume in my account. Its been about a week since the switch and google is really overspending on the bids (more than double what I was paying), I know CPCs isn't the main concern with max conv but I haven't really seen an increase in conversions in this timeframe (only 1 conversion with $550 spent, and my TCPA is set to $200). Google has Overspent my daily budget by double, in the last 4 days. I was wondering if anyone could offer some advice, here is what I was considering: -Give it 1 more week to see if conversion volume increases -switch to a portfolio bid strategy to limit CPC's and potentially get more clicks -Switch back to Manual to try and get more control and conversion volume in the account before retrying max conversions -Lower the tcpa to force Google to spend a bit less on keywords What would you guys do in this situation?

To get more volume with Performance Max campaigns I wouldnt change the CPA targeting, that often just blows out the campaigns. Instead when it gets to a good volume just put that campaign to 1 side and then create a fresh PMax campaign with slightly different targeting and test a different CPA bid with that. Doing this horizontal scaling allows you to have more wiggle room if the new campaign doesnt perform straight away. Usually PMax campaigns drop off a cliff when you mess with the CPA bidding (A bit like Facebook does when you double the daily budgets!) and often they don't really come back to their previous performance. Worst is if you switch to a ROI bidding then try and go back to CPA bidding (ouch) This is just my experience, I used this technique to scale campaigns from 10 sales per day to 167 per day.
Discrepancy between Google Ads clicks vs GA4 and Clarity visits
Hello. I'm noticing significant differences between my Google Ads clicks, Google Analytics visits, and Clarity tracking numbers. What's typically the most common reason for these discrepancies? Has anyone else experienced this and found the root cause? Thanks in advance for your help! ✌️

Yeah, I've had this issue. I was running a traffic campaign for an online magazine where their KPIs were visits. 1) The magazine was slow and people who clicked on the ads would bounce off well before the website would load 2) Mobile Apps were a good % of this traffic and is generally very poor traffic. What would happen is the visitors would exit/bounce off the website before Google Analytics would have time to load. Due to the website being very slow this wouldnt be a lot of time but we tracked it down from Server logs. Hope this helps 1 quick fix would be to remove Mobile Apps if thats the issue. Just go to Audiences > Content and click on Edit Exclusions and remove all Mobile Apps for the Account level
