In-home consultation
What is the flow of your in-home consultation? Do you have set questions you cover? How much of your time is discussing their style and preferences (like ie. do they hate brass)and do you actually talk through the our process binder? Have you ever presented a proposal/contract in person or you always send via DesignFiles?

@Alison Johnson Hi Alison 👋 I would just add that until I started charging a consultation fee and following a process, yes there were those clients who wanted "to pick my brain" only to never hear from them again. You respect yourself more and your business by following a process. 😊

Hi everyone ☺️ I'm Sheryl, owner of A Designer's Vision. My hubby and I love remodeling, thrifting, and a bit obsessed with barnwood. Check out my website www.adesignersvision.com to see all the photos, before and after in addition to some clients projects I've worked on. Would love for you to follow me on Facebook and Instagram @adesignersvision as well❤️

@Emilee Neubert Thank you Emilee! We were extremely fortunate to find this right after the holidays last year. A home owner couldn't take with because of shipping charges and new home owners did not want. We scored an absolute treasure! 1800 original two piece cupboard. I love the history of it and that it offers so much display and storage room!
Consultation Fee
You have a set consultation fee of $300. Does that price go up if you have to drive further? Say an hour away?

Heather, I'd just like to add that the consultation fee also helps to weed out the less then ideal client your looking for. For the longest time I offered free consultations. The problem became potential clients ghosted, or no longer interested in the project, went a different direction. This left me with a time waste not to mention gas getting to and from the consult. Emilee is also accurate in that you need to know your area. What one designer might get a consult for $3, 5, or 700 there is no way in my area would I get that in my area. Hope that helps❤️
SEO Company
Hello everyone! I'm looking for recommendations for a reliable SEO company. I'm considering hiring an SEO expert, but I'm hesitant because I don't personally know any company I can trust to do a great job. Any suggestions for a reputable SEO company would be greatly appreciated. I would really appreciate any recommendations you could provide. Thank you!🤗

Do we have to take your blueprint program to gain access to your seo or is that something that can be made available separately?

Emily, although I appreciate the thought process behind the SEO, would you be open to considering an alternative option? My reason being, I myself have invested quite a lot in other courses that provided much of the same information that I'm seeing in your course. One of the things I really liked about this program is you offer a considerably more affordable program which is not offered anywhere else. I'm sure I can't be the only one who has taken other courses, invested tons of money but now be expected to take your in depth course in order to receive the benefit of the SEO? Just curious if you might consider an alternative price point for those of us who have completed other courses but could reap the benefits of your SEO? Thank you in advance for considering. Thank you for providing a cost effective community for interior designers! I'm so happy to have found your platform and to be continue growing with like minded peers❤️
Best use of marketing dollars that are limited.
If you had about $150/mo to spend on marketing your business (as you're getting started) would you A. Try and find someone to do SEO for that cheap? B. Get an ad placed in a local magazine that services luxury neighborhoods C. Take builders and trades people to lunch each month D. Join your local chamber of commerce (cost is about $600/yr here) Sometimes when you're just getting started you're stretched so thin. Of course I'd like to invest bigger money in coaches and what not, but right now I feel like I gotta hustle a bit.

You could also get your name out there on LinkedIn and begin nurturing connections and partnerships. There is a free version which I recommend or you could pay for the premium listing which I don't think is necessary if your cash flow is limited
