Breaking Mental Barriers
Breaking mental barriers is a transformative journey that requires resilience, a growth mindset, and consistent effort. Overcoming fear, embracing failure, and persisting through challenges are crucial steps towards achieving our goals. Today I made such a step. I finally made the 24 - inch box jump. Yeah! The satisfaction and empowerment that come from finally conquering a daunting physical challenge feels SO good! 😁πŸ’ͺ

@Marlies Kort oops guess I already had it!
Change of Plans
Seems my favourite MHR route (Okanagan Lakeshore - Chasing Pavements Strava segment) will be unavailable for a while as there was a landslide. Glad I wasn't running by when it happened. It was always a fast, flat and windy section between the lake and highway and was the perfect 15 km loop.

@Baz Zwaan speculation is over irrigation from the home above - but it’s all silt so erodes naturally

@Marlies Kort it’s very inconvenient as it’s the main highway and the detour is through quiet, hilly country roads full of potholes. They are not equipped for the volume of traffic.
Introducing myself
Hi, I’m Eleanor from Christchurch, New Zealand. I would love to run a marathon one day and I had better not wait too long because I’m already 61 years old. I normally run 3 or 4 half marathons a year but stepping up to a full seems very daunting. My longest run was just over a week ago at 25.5km. I love the idea of running the 9 mile way but am yet to fully follow the training.

@Eleanor Becker Hi Eleanor. I'm your age and used the program to complete 3 Marathons over the past 1.5 years including Boston last month. I highly recommend the program for solid race preparation and avoiding injury.

@Marlies Kort Saw a few of them in Vancouver and older versions too. It’s like being in a club - instant camaraderie.
