Is "Fake It Till You Make It" Bad Advice?
In this video, Speaking 4 Profit University member @Sammie Walker Herrera examines the popular saying "fake it till you make it" to determine whether it's beneficial advice or if it could be holding us back. Sammie explores: ✅The potential downsides of focusing on faking confidence or competence. ✅How this mindset can prevent us from developing true, long-term confidence. ✅Why "Lucky Girl Syndrome" might be a more empowering alternative. ✅The importance of self-belief and recognizing your existing accomplishments. Join us as we challenge conventional wisdom and discover how to cultivate genuine confidence from the inside out! This talk took place at Speaking 4 Profit Live, the #1 event for speakers and consultants who want to learn how to land more high-paying contracts. @Latecia Pearson thank you!
I just finished a virtual presentation that went GREAT
The results are in! I just finished a virtual presentation for the Rockwood Leadership Institute. This is an annual community call I host with leaders nationwide, focusing on well-being and self-care. The session was called "Write it Out, Navigating Uncertain Times." I created this presentation during the 2020 lockdown when my day job required me to stay home. I used it to support students, staff, and faculty at a leading medical school, and now I'm sharing it with the world. I have a follow up process after every presentation. I share the feedback I got from talkadot with the organizer and ask if there is an opportunity for us to host the event again. I always want to bring the conversation up 24-48 hours after the event because the organizer is more likely to respond. This is my standard follow-up process after every speaking engagement. Next, I'll follow up with attendees who expressed interest in working with me. What's your post-talk ritual for success? Share in the comments so we can all learn and grow together!
