https://www.instagram.com/reel/C4s9ARTRlhm/?igsh=MzRlODBiNWFlZA%3D%3D I personally think that when I dance without a mirror I feel a lot better. Throughout my dance journey I rarely used a mirror because I didn't have access to one. I tend to dance on what feels good to me internally and that reflects externally through my dance. When I do go to dance classes and see myself in a mirror, I tend to focus on what would look good instead of what feels good. If I'm doing everything correctly when I look in the mirror, then I feel good but if I don't, I tend to feel not great. I'm aware that I should be practicing with a mirror so I know I'm executing the moves correctly. I think dancers should practice with both so you're not dependent on what looks good but what also feels good. What are your thoughts?

@Marissa Smith She’s definitely right! It’s tricky but depending of the context you might need to look good over the feeling of feeling good. But the real question is what do you value more look or feeling? :)

Really interesting conversation! There’s 1 question that hit me & Jamie asked “ Is it okay to use different dance move from different dance style to incorporate into your choreography?”. I think it’s totally fine as long you make sure that you tell your student from where it comes from (which style). By trying different things like that it creates your own style & that’s the beauty of dance! Everyone is unique & have there own approach of dance! 🙌🏾🙌🏾

Intensive int/adv training
if you are willing to set a 5 week int/adv training once a week, 2 hours, how much would you price your training and why?

Hey Hey!! So honestly it depends of your background. First of all you need to know is what’s your worth. If you update your artistic CV regularly (If you don’t you should do it ASAP) it’s going to be easier to track everything you did. After depending what you have to offer & what you want to offer you need to think how it can help the student/client. Now depending the distance you have to travel to go to your location & the rent of the studio expenses it might affect the price you’re willing to give. Once you know the amount of people willing to take your private you can always adjust the price to make it accessible & affordable for everyone. Last but not least, why are you giving this training? Is it to just make money or to actually help the community to grow? There’s plenty more factors that can affect the price but these are some point to take into consideration before starting to give a proper training to the others. Make sure to have the tools & the knowledge to share with the people around you before teaching. A lot of people want to teach but not many know how to properly teach. (Obviously it takes time & experience to grow) Last tip HAVE FUN while doing all of that. Enjoy the process :)
