New algorithm?
I’ve been away for a week and I was stuck in the 200-300 view range even with some decent engagement. Just posted my first 3 videos in a while and they’ve all received 700-2000+ views but the engagement is still poor. Are tiktok pushing videos out to a wider audience more now, anyone else had this happen? The content and engagement hasn’t changed so I’m curious what’s boosted them.

@Cal McCormick nothing flagged, not sure what it is that makes the views fluctuate because nothing changes. Just going to keep posting, hopefully after 100+ posts I see more consistency

@Robbie Mac I’ve just posted one that’s been flagged, do you know how long appeals take because there’s nothing wrong with the video. It says dangerous content but there’s definitely not any
Categorisation
Finally got some of my videos categorised at the top search bar, but I’m wondering if my content is too broad and could be confusing the algorithm. The content is based on film but not one particular genre so I’ve got one categorised as game of thrones, the next Pixar, the next studio Ghibli. Do you think tiktok is picking up that these are all film based or do I need to be in a more specific niche?

@Cal McCormick definitely interested, giving the channel month to build up viewership and see where I’m at in the next 2 weeks then make a decision from there.

@Moto Nonsense I just used the title in the description of the video and used text to speech to say it at the start of the video. Replying to comments using the category helped as well. For example if it was a studio Ghibli edit I’d make sure to have “studio Ghibli” in the reply. But I’ve gone back on to look and they’re no longer categorised after a week so I’m not sure, that’s probably just an issue with engagement
Introduction
Hi everyone, I’m new here. I’ve just started to create content on tiktok in the movies/film niche. Specifically using ai to create vertical film shots to fit the 9:16 ratio. I’d love any feedback and thoughts on what I could do to improve engagement as I’ve been stuck at the 200-400 view mark unless I do a paid promotion on my vids. Happy to provide feedback if you want thoughts on your content :)

@Denisse D thank you, tbf I tried different hooks but in this niche all the big accounts don’t use any hooks it’s just straight in so I love changed to doing that. I’ll try with more exciting clips at the start
