Water Bottle Design (from Exclusive Courses)
My first successful use of the last plasticity Deform command to put regular stripes on a curved face. It turn out a powerful tool. The original spherical holes I don't like at all so I had to improvise.

Did you unwrap the face first? If so, I assume it didn't come out in the shape of the face (my experience is that unwrapping faces always produces a perfect rectangle). I ask because I was experimenting with this and I had a face that was smaller on one end but when I unwrapped it, it came out as a perfect rectangle. I though deform with fit it in to the face for me but it didn't.

@Vyacheslav Kudrya When you unwrap in blender, the result conforms the the faces you unwrapped. I assumed when I unwrapped, I could use it as a guide for placing objects - here is an example - I unwrap the top face but it isn't perfectly square, I add a bunch of curves that fit the unwrapped face exactly, but when i deform, it doesn't follow the face.
Just Loft It
I was watching a video on creating a vase type thing with twists in it - then, I watched a video on using lofts with different shapes - then I thought - could I just.....took 2 minutes.

@Daniel Martinez Thanks. Yeah, so many possibilities.
Patch Implodes
Well, not sure how this is possible. Plasticity can be frustrating.

Last update - I am going to park this course. I will go over several small youtube videos to see what knowledge I can pick up - try something new.

@Steven Jenkins Yep - that's my approach.
Joining lines/faces on sheet/solid
Joining lines/faces on a solid or sheet. I am doing the helmet and for some reason one of the edges is split in 2. The corresponding faces are split. Is there any way to join them (J doesn't do it). I see this often enough. It screws up the fillet if they are not joined.

@Lee Kolb Hmm, that is good to know but doesn't solve my issue. I was able to fix it by re-building but there has to be a way. Maybe if I had ensured the 2 edges I used to do the patch weren't split. Let me try that. Yep, that worked. Thanks. I will add that to my toolbox of things I know.

@Daniel Martinez It isn't. Trying all kinds of things. I feel like this will all be a good learning experience.
Damn Lofting
Doing the helmet course - main outline. Every time I try to loft, I get what you see below. The loft works but the guidelines break it. I checked all points, they are all connected. I am using the Face edges for the loft, not the initial guide curves (that I extruded from). It is maddening - I see this happen too often.I have to be doing something wrong.

@Nick Fox Wow - thanks for taking the time. I am using control point curves. It is the only way to create tangency when creating the top/bottom guide.

I decided to rebuild the top line and it worked. I did it exactly the same way but who knows. Thanks to anyone who chimed in. I learned a lot.

Blender user since 1999 - only part I loved was the 3D modeling. Saw Plasticity and I got excited again. Addicted already.
