@Shmane Humphrey, I'm still learning but it is turning into one of my favorite things to practice.
👶Skate young or old!👵
Just curious... How old you were when you started skating and how old you are now? I'll go first: I first skated at 10 or so and stopped skating at about 15. Just bought my first pair of skates earlier this year at 37 and rolled right into 38 🥳. My favorite skater at the rink started skating at 72. He is now 82 and such an inspiration.

I first started skating using inline skates when I was 7-8 and stopped when we moved to Oregon. I then started skating again when I turned 18 but broke my ankle rock climbing in 2019 and had to stop until 2021 when I switched to quads skates and had one more ankle surgery in 2022 and just recently bought skates that fit right and just restarted my skate journey at 24 years.

@Angela Cross Yes I absolutely love being able to skate again.
Solo skate
Went and did the loop I used to do before I broke my ankle in 2019. So happy to start skating again and start building skills. Have to find better-maintained trails to skate this was a good stretch but had plenty of areas where I had to walk in the grass to get around safely.

Small clip of our trail skate.
@Sharayah Herring and I made it out on the trail Wednesday and I got this small slip before we ate pavement.

How to manage hills.
So, today @Rj Spookie and I went trail skating this morning and there was a hill that we went down that was bigger than any hill I have gone on (granted I have gone skating outside twice😅). We went almost 9 miles and hour down that hill and ate some serious pavement. I'm sure me holding onto her while screaming, "Help me!!" didn't help. 😂 What are your tips and tricks for managing hills? Is there anything I should keep in mind when attempting hills? Best way to stop/slow down when going down them? I would love any and all suggestions. Also wish I had a GoPro mounted to see that fall again. 😂
