Black Friday plugin deal hopes and dreams
Hey, guys. I know I'm not the only one with my eye on certain plugins for Black Friday. Which ones are you guys hoping have good deals? I've got my eye on Kiive's KC1 compressor and their M5133 EQ. That EQ is dope as heck. All of Kiive's plugins are analog and the one I have sounds freaking fantastic. I've got their Tubeitizer saturation plugin. It's so precise. The saturation knob (labeled "Distortion") and output knob are linked. The main input and output knob are linked. There are a few add-ons. Now, that M5133 EQ is dope because it lets you solo each individual band like Fabfilter's Pro-Q. And I really want to hear how Kiive's compression holds up against Softube's VCA compressor, which my other number 1 fave plugin, tied with that Tubeitizer.

@DeShaun Rawlings Good advice
FREE ANALOG EQ FOR A LIMITED TIME WORTH $90!
Hey, guys. I was browsing Facebook a minute ago. They're always showing me adds for plugins and other audiophile paraphernalia since I stay googling plugins. Every now and then, I'll come across a free plugin someone is giving away. And then, once every blue moon, I'll come across a SOLID plugin they're giving away for free. This is one of them. The EQ only has three bands... but... the range on the middle band is wide, like from 300 Hz to like 7.5 kHz, so you can still do what you need to do with it though you may need to use more than you would with an EQ with four or five bands. It's got your high and low pass filters, too. And this mug is analog. It has 8x OS. I can't wait to try it out. It's only going to be free for a limited time, so you may want to go grab it. They do lie about their "sales" and "for a limited time" sometimes on Facebook ads, but I never risk it if it's something I want. Here's the link: https://audioplugin.deals/product/backs-eq-by-noiseash/?fbclid=IwZXh0bgNhZW0CMTEAAR04Q7oa9A68gw9ALyar0C1AyHDLeJURaWggfZZuoTcNS8ueI3DWwqTnIx8_aem_bl49ztTVYjGTffrAy2flbw

Consistency compressing my 808
Hey, guys. I'm working on a beat I made and there's a combo of two 808s that come in and out to make up my 8 bar pattern. The one I need help with is pretty inconsistent, definitely needs that consistency style of compression, but I can't seem to get it to even out. I've run into this problem before with other beats, but I really want to get this right. I' tried using a single compressor as well as serial compression until each instance it plays had the same amount of gain reduction. I'm pretty sure I have way too many on there now. There's like seven, but the gain reduction is all under 2 dB. I tried using a slower release time still on tempo when I did the serial compression. It did get the other parts to the same level, but the last section is still noticeably louder. I haven't tried it with the faster release time, but before I spend days more on this, I thought I'd come ask you guys for help.

Y'all are going to laugh at my butt. Every time someone said to get it right at the source, I thought to myself these are all synths. There's not much room for recording errors. Keyboard touch response is always off. The beat is aligned in Reason. How could it get unaligned during the export? Never had this problem in any of my other beats. Then the Holy Spirit hit me and reminded me the master compressor in Reason was still on. I did this beat like at the beginning of the year and mixed it shortly after my FTM sessions. I didn't watch the Mastering.com YouTube video on compressors until after I had "mixed" this beat. So all I did was turn the threshold up. As you could imagine, it wrecked the mix. I don't know why I didn't remember that on my own. The problems were in the exact same spots as before and even back then, I knew it was because I didn't know what I was doing with the compressor. I'm good now. Thanks for all you guys help.

My family is demanding my Christmas wishlist soon. LOL While I use 90% free plugins, I know there are some great paid ones out there. What are your must-haves I should consider adding to the list? Any category.
