Authentically You Don't Change A Thing!
I heard this today and it hit home. As I learn to play my guitar and learn my idols riffs, I always wish I could play as good as them. Hell, I watch Steve's videos and say the same thing. As I learn these riff and trying so hard to play like them. I remember in a video Steve said "if you change a note or play it differently, that's OK. No one plays it just like the studio version any way" My point is, that I'm putting to much pressure on myself. It has to be perfect! Well guess what it will never be perfect. When that pressure is there it's no longer fun. I hear musicians all the time say, I put my spin on the song. I need to be Authentally Me, let the pressure go. Have fun learning. Having fun playing my guitars I will learn more and retain it. Pick up my guitar and just be AUTHENTALLY ME, DON'T CHANGE A THING.

Restrained Composing
Hello everyone! Sometimes when I'm trying to write a song I get too overwhelmed and caught up in the details to actually finish the song. That's why I've come up with an exercise called Restrained composing (or writing). In this exercise I only give my self one hour to write what ever comes to my mind, once the timer is up that's it! I do this so I don't have time to get caught up in the super tiny meaningless details and can practice on focusing on the song itself. Below is my Restrained Composition, I kept all writing and recording under 1 hour. Its not perfect, there are things I wanted to add, there are spots I wanted to rerecord, but that's OK! I would like to encourage you to try the challenge, record your self playing it (even if you don't like where its at yet), and if you are comfortable enough post it here on this comment. Stay Groovy everyone 🤘
