Can AI prompt bundles still be sold on Etsy?
A few weeks ago, Etsy renewed its policies, including new AI rules. After two years and thousands of $$ in fees on many thousands of prompt bundles, Etsy prohibited it in one sentence! "AI prompt bundles can't be sold." After my prompts shop and many others are still running, I was wondering if they mean, what they say. I found this article where this is now explained a little bit better: AI prompt bundles "While we allow the use of AI tools in the creative process, we prohibit the sale of AI prompt bundles on our platform. We believe that the prompts used to generate AI artwork are an integral part of the creative process and should not be sold separately from the final artwork. Selling prompt bundles without the accompanying finished artwork undermines the value of the artist's creative input and curation, which are essential to the creation of the unique, creative items that Etsy is known for." So, do I understand correctly that selling an image pack with the prompts I used to create them would be fine? Selling AI artwork is still allowed. I am asking because I need to adjust my product, "The Grand Temple of AI Prompts," to the new rules. My first idea was to provide 1000 prompts with resell rights. Now I think I will also add all the images I created with them, with resell rights. You can use them as style or character references and use their descriptors in Midjourney to create new prompts and images. This will be an additional 4000 images for 1000 prompts. I will also include instructions on how to sell the images on Etsy and other platforms. Also prompts can be sold on other special marketplace like promptbase. Let me know what you think! Also, after researching with Insightfactory, I just added cute, trendy tumbler wrap designs with Highland baby cows to the Grand Temple! More highly trendy designs are on the way!
