@Tim Martinez @Lala Triplett -- my thoughts: What you aren't saying in words but you are saying in imagery is: "If you want to improve the optics of your brand for high visibility roles/jobs/influencer, I can make that happen. You will walk away feeling and transmitting confidence in every setting." So the site tells me you are targeting people who want to look as polished as possible for headshots, at conferences, in public settings. Which is TOTALLY cool but not what every woman pro needs/wants. So it seems your audience are woman poised to bump to the next public-facing role in a C-Suite or who are ready to go on the conference circuit or who want to go on TV or podcasts more (in certain domains). If that is your aim, you nailed it. And there's probably room to be even more specific in your targeting messages.

@Lala Triplett sure! My perspective has shifted since having a family. With young children, I want flexibility, first and foremost, without having to sacrifice on the kind of work that makes sense given my experience level. And I want a job that pays enough to either justify childcare or one that's flexible enough so I don't need it. I think most women go through this at some point... so probably broadly relevant. As it relates to what women professionals want, I will speak from my own experience: 1) Given the digital nature of communications now, I think how you present yourself in those domains is really critical; and it evolves as your career evolves. I recent had a professional resume writer help me reimagine how I position myself that way. It was extremely helpful. 2) I do not personally but know many women in my domain (I work in and with male-dominated industries) who need or want to be taken seriously for what they can contribute. That might come down to speaking with more confidence (not starting thoughts with questions or ending statements with questions). So how one communicates on Zoom calls and in meetings can convey a lot. I see women struggle with that. I can see you being really helpful here. 3) Women also struggle with when and how to ask for raises. That's something I have coached female colleagues on. What would transform my life, career, relationships? I would say what DID transform it was a better sense of boundaries derived from necessity (in my case) about when work stops and life ends. As a related matter, a keen sense that I work to build a meaningful life rather than a sense that I live to work. Those are my thoughts!
new byline!
I haven't published an op-ed since I got married.. too many babies, too many FT jobs. So when I last published something, I was Portia Mills. I worked for a few weeks on this piece, the latest since 2018. Got more coming! 💪 🤪 https://www.realclearenergy.org/articles/2024/03/20/are_clean_energy_ambitions_unavoidably_linked_to_the_middle_east_and_africa_1019810.html

RECAP - EntrePowerCall 3/12/24 - March Meet-Up Progress Report
🔥 Great call today! Thanks for sharing your updates and progress on March Meet Up month. A few takeaways from today's call: - It's all about the follow up. Making a connection is great, but there is power in maintaining and strengthening these relationships. - Your uniqueness is your competitive edge. Drop the hard exterior. - It's not all about receiving. Seek to give first.  - Get out of your comfort zone. Say yes first, then figure out the rest later. - Become the center of influence, the host, the organizer/coordinator - Always be the loudest mouthpiece for your business. aka "Professional Flypaper" If you're in LA this weekend come join us for a walk around beautiful Lake Hollywood. https://www.skool.com/entrepowerment/calendar Also - Feel free to invite a friend or colleague if you feel they can gain value from this community. Last but not least Happy Birthday to community member @Portia Roberts 🎂

Time Blocking Exercise
EntrePowerment Crew! I'm creating this thread to house our dialogue for this months Challenge/Exercise. If you'd like to join in do these two things: 1. Watch this quick 2 min video: https://www.loom.com/share/a6207897e89f420d8550cf7626745b56 2. Make a copy of this sheet: https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/1TawsvIgVOmrhy4k0c1nPSYVd4FoP4G6kseH7VbcECsI/edit#gid=0 Let's share some tips, hacks, strategies on how to develop some tight schedules that we can all commit to. Remember the key here is mindfulness about where we are (or are not) spending our time. ‼️MAKE THIS CALENDAR YOUR OWN‼️ Note: you do not have to share your calendar with others if there is private or sensitive information. But it is important to make a copy of this and go through the exercise. We will discuss our findings at the top of each weekly call this month. 🏆 Let's Go! 1. "Time isn’t the main thing. It’s the only thing." - Miles Davis 2. "The key is in not spending time, but in investing it." - Stephen R. Covey 3. "Time is a created thing. To say 'I don’t have time,' is like saying, 'I don’t want to.'" - Lao Tzu

Here's a referral link for Reclaim, https://go.reclaim.ai/xghwxa2pwo9x if anyone wants to try it. I am happy to get on a quick call and walk through some of the ways I'm using it. It allows you to set daily tasks, priorities and better manage your calendar. It will defend your calendar for high priority activities you haven't made time for, for example. I love it. Been using it for 1.5-2 years.

@Leo Simpson II totally! Amazing how having children sharpens into focus the most critical. First, feed the hungry and clothe the naked.... then put them somewhere safe so I can wash up and answer email... then feed the hungry again.. 🤪 And then, when the clothed and fed are sleeping, get to work.... 💪

This was an awesome challenge... challenge being the optimal word! January was filled with school closures due to floods and snow and many, many sick days. But.. here are some concrete outcomes and revelations from my effort: 1. OUTCOME: Got a V1 of my new website out! Still needs work but it's LIVE! REVELATION: need to do some work on my positioning... 2. OUTCOME: Happy clients! Literally wrote every single work day... but often not for ME but for others. REVELATION: Having young children means ruthlessly prioritizing. Since my needs professionally and personally ALWAYS come last so it's SO important to carve out at least a couple of windows for myself each week. 3. OUTCOME: Spent the last few days of the Challenge working on a story for a dear friend who needs a kidney replacement and is working through NKR to find a donor. His new story really reflects all the things that make him wonderful and he felt a lot of love during the process. REVELATION: It's just always worth doing things like this even if time is a precious commodity. No regrets. Last but not least, I feel like I know this group a little bit better and am amazed at all the variety of talent and energy. I am equally amazed at the things we all seem to have in common. Thanks @Tim Martinez for inviting us to participate in this!
