@Jason Hanna these are awesome topics that would help so many of us here.
Foot injuries
Hey there, I’m looking for advice to prevent my toes getting messed up on people’s elbows or knees when teeping. I am probably at an early intermediate level. When I started light sparring I discovered that I have a pretty good teep and was able to land it at will on most sparring partners. Then people would shell up and I broke my toe on an elbow. When I got back to training I’ve been avoiding Teeps because my other foot has had a few light jams on knees and elbows and I don’t want another injury. Know I just don’t Teep. Does anyone have some guidance for me? Maybe I need to get better at distance management, fakes and set ups, positioning and timing before I throw?

That’s good advice. I don’t have sparring footage but thinking back on a few exchanges they were in rounds when I was starting to feel tired so my technique may have been lazy and I wasn’t lift my knee high enough before kicking. I’ll try get footage but also pay extra attention for my technique especially when fatigue sets in.

@Matt Ayuen I haven’t got footage yet they aren’t keen to let me film at my gym. I had a sparring session yesterday and paid close attention to my form, lifting my knee up high before firing plus making sure I had a clear opening down the middle and had more success. I found this meant I was less reactive and had to think of ways to set it up.

Distance control and footwork to get in a good position for attacks. Balance and torque when kicking at various heights and angles.
