Im not a rapper, I'm a singer so I can only speak from that perspective. I got into music at a time when all the greats like the mariah Carey's, Celine Dion's, Toni Braxton's were big and it wasn't until I was older did I find out that most of them were singers not writers. I respect singers but I'm a Songwriter who sings her songs. I have found it very difficult to sing other ppl's songs as it is their experiences not my own, so I find it true to myself to sing my songs, thus my experiences which I feel in the long run resonates with people more. That being Said, I don't have an issue with people singbor rapping other ppl's songs/raps but I prefer it.
