When I have given conferences about synodality, I always start by asking about the word itself: What do you think it means "synodality"? Normally there is silence... 😆 At the end of my conference, I ask people again: what words resonate in you when you hear synodality? Then we write down the words and then we make a word cloud. I would love to do this with the community...! 😍 👉What word do you associate "synodality" with?👈 Write in comments!!

It can mean whatever you want it too, but more importantly how does it align with the word of God? is it taking us away, or moving us closer? Synodality is not the cornerstone of the gospel. We are each on our individual journey and our thoughts on this matter may well be very different next year.
Summary's summary 😆
Hello Synodal Family, how are you doing these days? So...I have many friends interested in reading and learning about the Synod Synthesis Report Document buuuuuut they never have time to read the more than 40 pages! 🫠 So I have made a short 3-minute summary, highlighting the 5 chapters that I found most interesting. (⭐The last one is the one that I liked the most and surprised me the most too, taking into account what my job is⭐) WATCH THE VIDEO HERE: https://www.instagram.com/reel/Cz1KQZ-I0L_/?igshid=MzY1NDJmNzMyNQ== Obviously, this is just my subjective summary, but I would love to read your thoughts. What chapter or topic surprised you the most? 👀 In case you haven't been able to read it yet, I attach you the ENG version.

Its become apparent to me that the women involved in the Synod would like to see other women ordained as priests. Would I be correct? If so what would be the consequences of this and could you please explain the motivation behind this? Furthermore: Why did Christ choose men as his apostles ? I think this matter should be taken up with prayer to Jesus if you believe he was wrong in doing so.

You say "if it is felt strongly that women should be ordained priests and deacons what is wrong with that" What is wrong with this is : these positions do not come to anyone by the feelings of another. Feelings come and go and should not be relied upon as emotions are inconsistent and should not be relied upon for rational decisions making. This is where Eve went wrong when she allowed herself to be tempted by the devil.
My concern about Synodality is that we don't see it through to the end
How do you think Synodality will shape the future of our church? 💭 For example, Julian Paparella, Canadian and theology student in Rome, thinks: "My concern is that we may not take this all the way, that it becomes a passing experience rather than a transformative force for our church. If we remain stagnant, if we see it as a mere opinion survey, we won't fulfill God's dream for the church in this third millennium." ➡️ If you want to watch Julian's video about Synodality, click HERE and don't forget to follow us! 🧡

How do you know what God is dreaming

@Paula Vega Gods dream for the church is that it transforms us, not us transforming the church. This I can be confident off. The church has always been under attack often from within and has always prevailed. It is no place for egos only humility , then we will have ears to hear and eyes to see. Study the word to show thyself approved.
Synod Report
I've read the report and used up a few highlighter pens. I have to be honest and say my initial reading left me feeling a bit deflated. I know we were told to manage our expectations but clearly I hadn't managed them enough. However, I see Cardinal McElroy of San Diego is calling it a "transitory document - it's for this moment." And read in that light, yes, then it becomes more understandable. Over the next year the language in it needs to be unpacked and guidelines need to be issued from the Synod office for local churches to implement. Many of the proposals need to be taken up by commissions and ultimately the Pope if they are to be brought forward. As James Baker, American Secretary of State said in 1991 after the Israelis first sat in talks with the PLO, "we have to crawl before we walk, walk before we run, and today, we all began to crawl."

@Garry OSullivan Gary, we would all be better off not reiterating this sought of thing. It is gossip, sinful and not helpful to the church. Forgiveness is the key rather than judging others on wether they ignore us for some reason. You have reached the conclusion that it is a gender thing which seems to be popular amongst some people at the moment. We are all one in Christ but all have different gifts of the spirit.

@Garry OSullivan What has career got to do with the dialogue we have had Garry. The children in Ireland is a different issue to what we have been discussing as is Cardinal Muller and Jim Martin. You are trying to justify your position by confusing the argument Gary. The Catholic doctrine guides us on how to relate to each other and the more we try to distort it the more confused and divisive we become.
