Procrastination…the challenge of getting it done
I know we are only a small group currently, but I guess it’s a good time to remember the humble acorn. I am rapt to read your self-introductions. As 2024 hits its stride, its a good time to reflect on overcoming that stamina-killer…procrastination. I’ve been reading ‘Tiny Leaps, Big Changes’ recently by Greg Clunis ,a young American who shares academic research findings on motivation and goal-setting in the easy-to-read style of Malcolm Gladwell, packed with personal anecdotes and practical exercises. You can also access the audio book freely if you have Spotify premium. Clunis devotes a whole chapter to overcoming procrastination after sharing the results from a study at the Uni of Calgary that found 95% of Americans is affected by procrastination at some point and 20% are chronic offenders. Clunis identifies himself in the latter category. I think perhaps I am a CO too, although I go through periods of extreme productivity. How about you? And how do you deal with procrastination? Is it just simply following the Nike mantra, and just doing it? It’s a good question question to begin the conversation😎
