Good stuff $ekou and Fee!
Know where your money is going! Account for all of it.
I got paid by my job yesterday and I tend to have a lump sum of money hanging out. I also have a lot of ACH - automatic deductions that come out at various times of the month, but I have no idea when the deductions happen and how many there are. Because, what will happen and has happened, I will randomly spend that money going out to dinner, impulse buying etc. This group is making me aware of my fiscal habits and what I need to clean up. So now it's time to go back into a couple of months banking and see what's coming out and when. I heard a saying, IF WE DON'T HAVE A PLAN, THEN WE PLAN TO FAIL...something like that. LOL

Thanks for sharing, Robin. A good hack for that is to link a credit card to your checking account to provide overdraft protection… So if your checking account is overdrawn that money is automatically taken from the linked credit card instead of sending your checking account into negative balance. And that exact quote is: A FAILURE TO PLAN IS A PLAN TO FAIL. 😊

@Fatimallah West Me either. A few years ago my bank, Wells Fargo, had been advertising a Wells Fargo credit card to me every time I logged into my account. One day I clicked ACCEPT. They asked me if I wanted to use the $2500 cash advance they offered on the card as overdraft protection. I was like, sure. So my bank credit card is linked to my bank account for overdraft protection. So if I ever go over my bank account balance my Wells Fargo card will cover up to $2500 in overdraft protection, provided I have up $2500 in available, unused, cash advance credit on that card.
Streak
I'm so excited to be on day 38 of my October Birthday Month Run/Walk Challenge. I decided to keep going into November. Recent research has shown that it takes at least 66 days to establish a new habit. What streak do you have going on in your life? What streak can you start today? Make today count!
