Prayers requested
If you could please lift up the first responders in my hometown of Greenwood Lake, NY, as they battle a brush fire that is over 1,800 acres so far…a forest ranger has lost his life in the line of duty earlier today when a tree fell on him, and people are worried about possibly having to evacuate their homes. We have not had rain in over a month and are just a small village of mostly volunteer first responders. Thank you for your prayers 💜

@MaryPauline Mahaydik, hello to you, neighbor 😊 Thank you for your prayers: it has been a stressful time since Saturday to say the least and looks like some more stressful days ahead, but God has been so good to provide the resources for our community and to protect all of us.

I have started my day with God first. I have been reading from the Bible, short excerpts from two books helping in different areas of my walk with God, taking time for about a five-minute meditation, journal writing, reflect on my morning spark sent through this challenge and prayer. It is about an hour’s time, but it helps me to feel ready to start the day. God has been answering through His word and these various devotions or studies issues that have been on my heart and that I really need His help in addressing because I can’t do it on my own. There are no coincidences. When I saw your email about the prayer challenge, I thought, yes, I will do this because I truly love your teachings…but as we are only 13 days in, I can see that God knew all along I would be here and He is definitely speaking to me through His word. Thank you, Susan, for your ministry.
Presence of God
2024 has found me on a path of searching and feeling alone and lost. I knew that I needed God and His presence and love, and He has been there, but I still felt lost and alone. This morning I read some pages from The Practice of the Presence of God by Brother Lawrence and also some from The Battlefield of the Mind by Joyce Meyer. This morning’s prayer spark of “Be still and know that I am God.” I took a moment of meditation trying to quiet my mind. And All of these led me to Philippians 4:8-9, and God’s answer was right there. “Those things, which ye have both learned, and received, and heard, and seen in me, do; and the God of peace shall be with you.” 💜 I have been waiting and praying for this peace…but have been going about it wrong. My mind was busy. I was focusing on so many things and my heart was broken, and perhaps I needed to go through this brokenness, but today I awoke to being able to be quiet and still, and even though I already had this passage of scripture underlined in my Bible and knew it, today it jumped out of the page to me in a new way, and God showed me so plainly how to be with Him. May the God of peace be with you all as well and that you feel His presence around you.

God hears your prayers and sees your intent to reach out to Him. He is loving and full of understanding and compassion beyond what we can imagine. Jesus says, Come to me all you who are weary and heavy laden, and I will give you rest. Each day is a new day. Don’t be discouraged if you haven’t been on track like you thought. Keep on continuing to seek God’s presence, and He will always be there 🩵
Monday morning
Good morning. It was wonderful to receive my morning spark to start my day, and I am excited about this challenge and looking forward to how God will make his presence known and move in my life as I seek to draw near to Him. Thank you for your ministry, Susan, and your love for others in all that you do. I am so grateful to have you as a friend.
