@Sunny Willard it’s been so rewarding to teach him and see the fruit. Seeing him read has been the biggest blessing as an avid reader myself πŸ’› Now comes the hard part. SpellingπŸ˜„ I struggled with it as a kid too so there is a lot of patience πŸ‘

@Hayley Love-Malchak thanks for the welcome 😊
What are some of the best resources out there?
Curious to know what y'all would recommend for someone new to homeschooling, and didn't know where to start. Any free resources, sites, or info hubs that are exceptional?

I used Easy Peasy’s preK curriculum as well as their Kindermath. Easy Peasy is a free curriculum. You can buy the physical copy if you want. The Good and The Beautiful also offers some of its curriculum for free as well although I haven’t checked it out myself. There is also librivox which is public domain audiobooks. I enjoyed listening to Up from Slavery by Booker T Washington and they have literature as well such as Around the Word in 80 days etc.

@Blake Willard Libby for sure is great! Once my oldest got through all the readers I had we started checking readers out at the library and LibbyπŸ‘ Kahn academy is great too! They have an app called Kahn academy kids which makes a game out of good practice. It also has a teacher side where you can see how well they do on certain games. The math and language arts games have been helpful for usπŸ‘

Thanks for this introductory video. It is good to know the videos are a digestible size in the courses. Sometimes I feel like I can only grab a few minutes here and there between my littles.
