@Monroe Neese That's so cool! It appears to be unavailable to me on Spotify :( Anywhere else I can hear it?

@Monroe Neese All the songs are unplayable for me. May be a regional thing.
Back after a break. What's going on? :)
I'm returning here after almost a year of being too busy and demotivated to become better at this. My time and motivation has now returned and I'm ready to learn! I'm trying to be my own composer and producer and I have a lot to learn. Hoping this is the place for me to continue that journey. So what has changed here since February? What's going on? :)

Intro to Music Production (Feb 13th)
Just a quick reminder that the free “Intro to Music Production” virtual event is only 3 days away! We're kicking things off on Tuesday, February 13th, at 1pm Eastern. Don't forget to head to the Calendar section here in Skool to add the event to your personal calendar and grab the Zoom link. This event is for complete beginners - no prior experience necessary. You don’t even need to have any software or equipment yet. Of course, if you’re an intermediate, you’ll want to give this a miss… But if you’re new to the world of music production and you’re feeling overwhelmed/confused about where to start - or maybe you’ve struggled to keep up with our Fix-The-Mix events… Then this is for you. Head to the Calendar section here in Skool to get the details, and drop a GIF below if you’re attending! — Rob

Is this going to be a recurring thing like FTM? I'm feeling kinda sick but i don't want to miss out :(
Creative Process / Production <-> Mixing/Mastering
When seeing the arrangement from the FTM challenge tonight, I really wondered how the producer/artists managed to get this far creatively without doing any of the work that Jake did. How can you make all these creative choices with such a poor picture of how the song will sound like? How can you come up with extra layers, when after you have added those layers, they just sound so bad? How does the artist go, "yeah I'll keep that in" when it doesn't actually sound good? Is it because they are good at seeing the potential of that layer? Another theory I have is that the artist actually did process a lot on the tracks to the best of his ability, and this is his result before sending it to a professional? This is probably my biggest hurdle right now, as I am highly intertwining the creative process with mixing/mastering, constantly going back and forth between the two, because I find it hard to produce when the stuff I already recorded doesn't sound like I want it to. My workflow is all over the place! Hope anyone of you has some advice on this subject! 🙏 Edit: No offense to Reub. It's composed and produced very well and way above my level. The track is pretty lit actually.

Creative Process / Production <-> Mixing/Mastering

@Jorge Francisco thanks for your answer! I wonder, is there already a rough volume balance done in the pre-mix? And in terms of plugins, a lot of the creative choices are done using plugins. I can't just send a dry guitar signal to a mixer and expect them to know what I want done to that creatively. In my case, I am both the producer and mixer, which means the lines are blurred between those two processes. How much processing do I do in the production vs in the mix? The question that boggles my mind. Maybe some plugins are creative plugins and some are objective. Like an amp model is a creative tool, as well as reverb, delay, chorus etc. Maybe Saturation as well? And Volume, EQ and compression are objective tools? I assume it's not that black and white, but maybe as a general philosophy?
