After 31 days I am feeling alright about me being in control of my habit. I would say that I am definitely not as cautious as I once was when I started, for example when I started I was making sure that I wouldn’t even look at any women in public but now I am a little bit more lenient. And also, I have had thoughts of porn in my head occasionally that I should have immediately kicked out even though I don’t, because I know how it can lead to trouble. Some of things that helped me the most in making it 31 days was definitely understanding my root cause of why I do it. My root cause was that I was lonely, and didn’t have any friends that I would hang out with, or any girls that I would hang out with, because of my social anxiety. And instead of facing my fears and learning how to get over them I would turn to porn and run away from them. And when I was still watching porn I never actually knew that this was the reason why I was doing it. And after watching these videos on this app it really hit me and surprised me of how I never thought of how that was the reason why I was going to porn. And after realizing that it made me really want to stop, because of how much porn was ruining my life and how much I was missing out on because of the fact that porn was becoming my substitute for friends and relationships. Another thing that really helped me was eliminating all of my excuses that I used to have like, the longer you go without it the better it will feel when you do it. I learned that lesson when I hit 29 days without porn, and I slipped up right before hitting 30 days, and after I did it I felt horrible not only because of the fact that I just failed myself but also because of the fact that it wasn’t even fun or enjoyable at all. another excuse that I used to tell my self was that you’ll quit when you get married but after watching videos on this platform, I’ve seen at least five or six videos of recovery stories of people that are still doing it when they’re married. These where the 3 things that really helped me just say no to porn. I hope that my story will help you guys Maybe learn a thing or two about how you can quit porn and also help encourage you guys to no give up so that you can hit 31 one days too. I also really hope that I am finally done with porn, and right now I am trying to hang out with more friends so that I can fix my root cause and hopefully prevent myself from ever doing this stuff again. I dabbled in the business world (start-ups) when I graduated from CSUEB with a marketing/finance degree. God called me to seminary/ministry and here I am now.
