Revit MEP Query
Hey, currently I am working on High rise building that will be used for both commercial and residential purposes. I dont have Revit file of it, do I have to create revit architectural model before I start working on Revit MEP on those plans ? or else I can just start working directly on CAD plans by importing them in REVIT MEP template.

Additional tip: If you create an architectural model, save it and link that model in a new Revit file (based on a Revit MEP template) to draw all MEP stuff. When doing that you have a separated MEP file which is much easier to manage! ;)

Hi everyone, I'm Joris Van Bossche, Project Manager Digitalisation for Techlink. I've over 15 years of experience in BIM. Techlink has an initiative called TechBiM. It's a free MEP library. TechBiM is a solution to go from generic objects to manufacturer objects by adding manufacturers data directly from the source. I'm a big fan of @Benjamin Maes ! He's doing a great job by helping a lot of people improve their BIM skills! 😍 I know he has his own podcast, but I've one by my own. So for all Dutch speaking people here: BIMUP
TechBiM - free library for technical installations
🤔Did you know that there is a free MEP library available on https://bim.techbim.be ? Currently a new version 1.1 is released last week for the Dutch content. The French content will be updated in the beginning of next year and an English version will be released before the summer of 2025. 🥅 The goal of TechBiM is to be a generic library where manufacturer data can be added to. Follow TechBiM on https://www.linkedin.com/company/techbim or check our Youtube channel: https://www.youtube.com/@TechBiM-TODW I don't think @Benjamin Maes is going to mind me doing some advertising about this, since he uses TechBiM himself from time to time 😉
