The Test Tribe's Discord Onboarding Experience
The Test Tribe is one of the world's biggest software testing communities: The Test Tribe - Next-Gen Global Software Testing Community Their Discord Server might be a good resource for you all as well: https://discord.gg/aNhVtdgv This is their Discord Onboarding Experience which I may try to replicate on Skool and Discord. It's just silky smooth, IMHO. When y'all are out there testing UI/UX stuff, keep in mind the concept of "friction". How easy or hard is it for the customer/user to achieve the desired goal? Just like positive and negative test cases, there are positive and negative friction. Examples: Good Friction - something that prevents the user from doing something we don't want them to do. Let's say we're CarMax and we need to transfer a car across the country, so a customer can test drive it (yes, we actually do this). It's *expensive* to do that and even though the customer pays a fee for the transfer, we still lose money on it. So, we want to add some friction to the website, so that ONLY people who are MOST LIKELY TO BUY make it past. At CarMax we do this by asking customers to do a credit application. That way, we can make sure at least the potential customer can afford it before we do the transfer. Bad Friction - a payment form that has a lot of extra, unnecessary, required fields. We want the checkout process to be as smooth as possible, so adding extra friction/steps for the customer to complete is not helpful.
