I know that there are many related posts on this subreddit but they are mostly all really old and I don't know if the rate that this field progresses would impact the suggested material or not, I'm a junior from Egypt and I really find sociology fascinating and I would like to self study it before university, can I have some suggestions on introductory materials and how to find more advanced materials afterwards? Hello everyone i'm an international student and my dream is to be accepted by one of the prestigious colleges like Yale, Stanford, mit.. and i've heard from students that you need to have good extra activities to get into these colleges+your academic grades and i don't have any idea of what kind of extra activities should i get and what are the competitions that you can participate in and be a good add to your cv i've seen so many competitions about machine learning but i'm beginner in coding and stuff please help me

Heyy Im Wania and Im an international student. Im reallyyyy interested in science research but due to the lack of opportunities (Im from a third world country) I have never really explored that passion of mine. I immigrated from my home country last year and only recently found out about doing research as an A level student (junior year in America basically). because Im so new to everything, I've found myself lost. Im currently working on an independent research project something related to migraine but I feel stuck.. I've done endless hours of literature review and can't really seem to come to a conclusion about my topic. I did come up with a research topic but I have no idea how to go about it. I dont really know how to explain but can anyone here help me??

Hey, I just discovered that such things as online research programs exist so I have a couple of questions in my head: 1. Can you apply to a research program without having any specific knowledge in depth, and if so, are those research programs common? 2. Following Rishab's video, once you decide on what topic you want to do research on, you are supposed to find a professor that is doing a similar research and cold email them to ask them if I could join their research process. How do you find these professors and how do you know what researches they are doing/ preparing for? 3. I am an international student and a non-us citizen, so local research programs in labs/universities or online ones that require for one to be a us citizen do not satisfy my needs. Can you recommend some free virtual research opportunities and I would be really grateful if you help me on how to search for research programs online that fit me. Thanks you!
