Am I crazy to be wanting to sell a $7 per month membership using FB ads? I understand its just a numbers game - Franks numbers of $611 (over eight days) to get 13 people (via ads AND the Halo effect), a new customer acquisition would cost $47. And it would take almost 7 months for me to be profitable (although the Halo effect would hopefully mean even more people would sign up, bringing down the cost of acquisition ;-)) ...

I've noticed in the past when I've spoken at an event I would get a big boost in sales for a week of so after. Even if I'm not pitching anything I believe this is the same halo effect Frank is talking about.
