I Own My Outcomes In our world theres a 1000 different people and factors to blame for why things didn't work out. Your ex, your professor, the weather etc.. In the sales world there is one reason the deal was lost... and it's you. In my humble opinion thats beautiful, clean, and simple. The way you will become a killer in sales is by blaming yourself, and the more harshly you are able to do that the better off you'll be. Heres what I mean: A bad sales rep loses a deal: He blames the Marketing, blames the Customer, blames the Product. A good sales rep loses a deal: Blame the Intro, Presentation, blames himself. I don't care if you've never sold anything or have been in sales for 30 years you can ALWAYS improve. The second you feel like you've become the master you've become the loser. After every single call Pull out a pen and paper and go through these 3 questions: Because of my actions what worked well? Because of my actions what went wrong? What actions will I change from my next call?
