Do you ever team up with your favorite efoil partner and chase him with the GoPro? These conditions were so much fun!!

@Zach Lefeber I’ve been training with Justin for quite some time now, before his course came out but, let me assure you that what’s in the course work is what he’s taught me and I can very confidently admit that I’m a far better efoiler all thanks to Justin and his training!! He’s the kind of guy who drips actionable content whenever he speaks so enjoy the course and come to Florida some time so we can race 🤙
Welcome! Introduce Yourself
What is up everyone? I am absolutely STOKED to be apart of your eFoil journey and be apart of your progressions. The goal with this community is to help eFoilers learn how to ride safely in order to be come a smoother and faster rider. As the community levels up, so does the sport of eFoiling. Its up to us to push the manufactures to innovate and push the limits of what we think is possible. Step 1: Introduce yourself in THIS thread below! What are your goals? Where's your local spot? What's your eFoil setup? If you could ride anywhere in the world where would it be? **Please DO NOT make a new post, (rather continue this thread) as those clog up the feed (they will be removed). Step 2: Check out the Classroom ------------- Best practices in this community: 1) Level up by posting insights and thoughtful comments 🚀 2) Help others level up by liking 👍🏽 good posts and comments 3) If you need help, just ask the community 💪🏽 Group Rules: 1) No Self Promotion 2) No Selling in the DM's 3) No Spamming the Community Feed 4) No Brand Bashing or Name Calling. You are most welcome, together we are strong! So I’m about 5’11” 152lbs and on an ultra, if you’re anywhere close to me then -1,-2 would be ideal, with this shim setup it forces your stance to go further back on the board which give you more control, similar to how with the sport and nano batteries they use foam inserts which pushes the weight to the rear giving you greater control. I’m riding a 900 flow with a 245 stabilizer and I still use the same shims but there’s nothing wrong with testing the shim combinations on a very calm day, draw out a map in your head using the same speeds and foot drills on each combination you use and see what works best for you but our very own Justin Chait assisted me with my combination considering I’m an amateur when it comes to shims lol once you adjust your pitch it will make the board and mast feel like an extension of your own body!

Fair enough on the Dubai topic, I respect that you know where you stand with your skill level/commitment to upfront costs 🤣 I’m basically delaying the purchase of a new efoil by about 6 months just so I can afford the trip but wouldn’t it be sick if I placed on the top three in the Dubai race which then got me recognized by fliteboard which could lead to a sponsorship which then lead to more involvement which could then lead into me assisting Justin with the development of the niche area of efoil racing, so much upside potential!!
Progression Road Map that REALLY WORKS!
I’ve put together a Progression Road Map breaking down the 3 different levels of riding. The Safe Rider being the foundation level. Here you’ll want to pay extra attention. Yes, it’s the boring stuff. However imo it’s the MOST important. It’s full of techniques that we look over… maybe because we can still enjoy and have so much fun on the eFoil without some of the fundamentals? The reason why this stage is so important is that when you get to the point of progression or working on something new, these fundamentals must be dialed in order to ascend to the next level. The Smooth Rider is the second level of our progression. Here the rider should have all the fundamentals engrained into their movement’s. You’ll notice your riding to be more effortless, smoother with less touchdowns and much more forgiving falls. In this stage we are going to be stepping up a bit with footwork & throttling techniques. The idea is to bring these two closer together to eventually become fully autonomous in our riding. The Final stage of the progression road map is entering into the Ride Fast level. I don’t want you to think this is only for racers, speed demons, or young guys. Really this Riding Fast means you’re able to drive the EFoil like it’s an extension of your body. You’re able to accelerate & decelerate while maintaining the same height on the mast, you’re able to throttle in higher gears 15+, preferably gear 20. At this stage you will learn front foot movements, wing breaches, hot launches, vortex launch and so much more. The Fast Rider is the safest and smoothest rider on the water and will open up an entire new world of eFoiling for you. This roadmap is 150% doable for all ages and skill levels. How much you put into the Academy is what you will get out. I highly encourage sharing your videos, experiences, questions, results with everyone in the academy. You’ll be amazed on how quickly you’re eFoiling advances. Let me in know what you guys think!

I love the thought process through progressing, it sounds like a steady way to progress and keep the thrill alive in your heart and soul!! I can’t wait to see more of this.
Why is footwork so important in the sport eFoiling?
I’m sure you guys have been around eFoiling for some time now. If you haven’t and your fairly new to the sport you’ll appreciate the head start 💪🏽 Think of a manual car… 🚗 When we accelerate we shift upwards and when we decelerate we shift downwards. Imagine your feet as the shifter. When we accelerate, we must shift our weight forward in order to prevent over lifting. Same goes for slowing down, as the board falls we need to increase lift by shifting weight back on the board. The idea is that we stay at the same height no matter what our speed is at. In this video, really pay attention to the footwork. Take a look at the movements, placement and when the movements occurs. Listen to the sound of the motor as the feet move. Let me know your thoughts? 🫡

Let me tell you first hand that this video is absolutely fundamentally important, this should be considered a building block for all riders as part of going back to “the basics”. Justin has been my coach for a little over a year, before Justin ever became my coach I was conditioned to standing in one position, maybe a bit of movement depending on the conditions but ever since I became Justin’s student he has truly taught me the massive value of staying fluid with your foot work, you have to be constantly shifting your feet, listening to your motor, speeding up on turns versus straightaways, you can have a home position for your feet but in terms of becoming the best efoiler you can be this video is bleeding value for any and all riders!!
