About me post
Hi Everyone I’m an Seo Specialist based in Montreal, Quebec. My favourite dish is Sushi (specially sashimi ones) I’ve been in Seo for the past 2 year’s My biggest strength is keyword research, finding those low competitions long tail keywords to targets and my weaknesses is technical Seo. I would love to improve my technical skills. My immédiate goals is to learn GA4 and provide better reporting to clients. Excited to join the community and connect with you all. Cheers

@Carl Fabri yep fellow Aussie with loads of great tips.
A bit about myself
Where are you based? Calgary, Alberta, Canada Favorite dish right now? Tuna Poke Bowl How long are you in SEO? Since 2008, so around ~15 years I have been in a leadership position managing an SEO team for over 5 years. Biggest strength? Developing a client understanding from years of business acumen in several industries. It is this understanding that has helped me create a truly successful SEO strategy for my clients, including a plan to measure performance. Biggest weakness? Being overly supportive and helpful to my team. Too much support does not help them learn or help themselves accountable for their strategies. What's your most immediate goal in SEO business? To establish analytics and measurement with (at minimum) the basic conversion tracking set. The most important KPIs for clients are those that drive their business.

Welcome Derek. Great to see another veteran amongst the ranks!
Don’t be naive
I made a list of over 1000 websites that I would contact to offer SEO. I wrote personalised messages (as in, not a blanket email to everyone) I used contact forms mostly. Sometimes had to use actual email. I focused heavily on ecomm and more specifically Shopify stores. I cited my nearly 20 years of experience and my own success running a profitable Shopify store. And I genuinely thought I’d get some responses. I’ve gotten nothing. There’s all sorts of reasons this has failed. But the main lesson here is: don’t be naive like me. You may have everything going for you (experience, for example) but that won’t be enough. Your biggest Issue isn’t convincing others. It’s getting them to even open your email to begin with. So that’s my next challenge. Get them to open their emails and not mark me as spam!

Jaaved’s intro!
What’s good?! I’m based in Dubai I love a mixed grill (Lebanese style) Been in SEO for 17-18 years… I’ve lost count! My communication skills are my biggest asset I could do a much better job at prospecting and sales I’d love to get more leads and to be able to sign up 2-3 new clients a month.

How to stand out from the crowd when there’s all these low level grifters clogging up inboxes with their trash SEO services.
