Why is footwork so important in the sport eFoiling?
I’m sure you guys have been around eFoiling for some time now. If you haven’t and your fairly new to the sport you’ll appreciate the head start 💪🏽 Think of a manual car… 🚗 When we accelerate we shift upwards and when we decelerate we shift downwards. Imagine your feet as the shifter. When we accelerate, we must shift our weight forward in order to prevent over lifting. Same goes for slowing down, as the board falls we need to increase lift by shifting weight back on the board. The idea is that we stay at the same height no matter what our speed is at. In this video, really pay attention to the footwork. Take a look at the movements, placement and when the movements occurs. Listen to the sound of the motor as the feet move. Let me know your thoughts? 🫡

@Justin Chait Thanks. What about shims? Seems like higher number rear shims increase front pressure and vice versa. So adjusting the shims can alter the angle of the board, all else equal. That being said, I think shims add drag. I have recently moved to zero shim because I am trying to depower in a wave or wake. A comprehensive look at shims would be very helpful.

I would love to see more details about wake thieving. There are lots of videos about wake foiling and surf foiling and some about foiling into surf (although these are all short on details). I have not found a comprehensive video about how to ride an efoil into a wake and let go of the throttle and maintain. To be truly useful, IMHO, the video would cover how to adjust the setup for riders of different weights. I see that it can be done (usually by the typical skinny/light rider) but ... how? Thanks!

Hi. Ivan Miller. I am an emergency physician. I live in Danbury Connecticut on Candlewood lake. SUP and surfing background (never that good). I ride a Fliteboard Ultra, folding prop, Flow 1300, nano. Trying to ride wakes and waves. I am 6'3" 210lbs which makes flying at low speeds challenging on this setup. Also, efoils are currently "banned by regulation" in CT so I am always looking over my shoulder. Good for balance training....
