A question
I wrote a screenplay many years ago and left it in the drawer since then. With the advent of AI I thought I would have AI make it into a novel. It was either Chat or Claude, can't recall but they did a daily good job. After watching many of Jason's videos I felt that I can have AI redo it into show dont tell and also then a few other styles that Jason had mentioned in his videos. The novel was a little over 20,000 words. And I submitted it to first ChatGPT and what I got out was a story that Chat took liberties with adding lots of stuff that was not my story and I reigned it in many times to much of my frustration and then I tried claude and got the same results. I am guessing now that is not what those AI programs are for and I need one of the programs that Jason talks about in his videos. I reached out to Jason yesterday and still waiting to hear back, so in the meantime does anyone else have an idea? Thanks!

@Eric Sexton Thanks for your comments. The novel is already written. I put it through AI with the hope that it would revise my story to incorporate show don’t tell. Almost 20,000 words is a long submission but being a newcomer I figured the powerful AI could handle it. I obviously figured wrong. The only thing I used from Jason’s videos was show don’t tell. So after both AI took the story in a complety different direction I decided to send one chapter at a time. While in theory it sounds workable I felt by doing one stand alone chapter at a time might not be the way to go because to the AI thinks each chapter is a story. I wanted it to have the knowledge of where the story goes. So, that’s where I am at now. Nothing got accomplished except weeks of wasted hours reading and reading the AI adding stuff to the story that was not in the novel. So that’s why I am here as I wonder if novel crafter or any of the the programs that Jason talks about might be of help.

Thanks. The screenplay was converted to a novel by AI. You mentioned above generate characters, scenes etc. all the characters are generated. The story is done from. For the story to have my vision every word needs to be used as the story as to incorporate everything from chapter to chapter otherwise it won’t work. I don’t need an outline since the story is complete except for some fine tuning.

I was at the peak of my writing back in the late 1990's and early 2000. I wrote a screenplay and then the beginnings of lots of short stories.
