My about page : https://www.skool.com/xpbasedleveling-3943/about I came up with the idea of my community a few months back and started building a course that would live on a standalone website. Building out a points and leveling system on a wordpress site is doable but there was no way to truly drive interaction unless there were people active on the website. I started feeling more intimidated when thinking about how long it would take to get traction on Youtube and then drive to my funnel to capture email. The gamification on Skool being connected to interaction and engagement is really intriguing to me. I will be playing around with these concepts a lot and sharing my findings I am also thinking about changing the name of the community. The problem is my socials that will be connected to my business are all "XPBasedLeveling" (XPBL). However, I think a Skool community name could be clearer. The current front runner is Dungeons and Dumbbells I feel like this is super clear. Less explanation needed. Maybe I plug the community like "join my community Dungeons and Dumbbells by XPBL" Some info on my background, experience and ideas for my business : 2 1/2 years ago I started weightlifting (powerlifts were the main focus) and lost 80 pounds without going on a strict diet and being more conscious about my eating habits. I want to teach others who have struggled with their health and body pains from being overweight. I was 280 lbs at my heaviest and had sciatica so bad it would lock up my hips and immobilize me. This was when I was 18 years old and I'd been struggling with it since I was 13 I am currently working with my younger brother who has also struggled with the same issues. I'll be documenting his progress there and welcoming people to join us on our adventure. My USP is gamifying your workouts in a style that mimics combat in tabletop roleplaying games like Dungeons & Dragons. You rate how hard the final set for a particular movement was out of 10. That number = your damage "roll" for an attack in game. Add up all the numbers from each exercise movement for your total damage for the session. You have a goal total number you are aiming for that correlates to how hard you should push yourself. These are all scientific weightlifting progress tracking techniques but you can take those numbers and turn them into a fantasy dungeon crawler! You could also apply this to any type of exercise since the system is based on your relative feeling of exertion and how well you recover. I know powerlifting best so that's what I'll teach but all exercise styles are welcome!
