Hi guys, It’s been a while, and trust me, I’ve been really trying to get back on this space. However, juggling a new job and a home move has been quite the challenge—a tough combination to manage at the same time! I’ve been keeping up with the posts and messages, but I just haven’t had the time to properly engage with them. Most of our meeting times have found me either on the road or busy with something related to the new job or the move. I’m optimistic that things will settle down in the next two weeks (or sooner), and I’ll be able to fully reconnect. Folks, I have been working on developing a docker-compose file for our startup application for the last couple of days. I used the app's v1.0.0 version but slightly tweaked the source code, especially the settings.py file, to fit into the docker environment. Now, three containers combined serve the startup application: one for NGINX, another for Gunicorn on top of Django, and the last one for Postgres. The Docker image is pushed to my DockerHub account. If you are interested, use the below image: https://hub.docker.com/r/ajdemo/fictitious-startup-app/tags The next task is to orchestrate them using Kubernetes. Yes, I am on it🔥 I will soon upload the code to my GitHub repo.

Next step was using the SSM Parameter Store to manage the configuration of the application. This allows to protect sensitive data and centrally manage configuration regardless of how many EC2 instances are running. Actually, this was very cool in regards to removing the secrets in GitHub and store them centrally in the Parameter store. Especially as it is not that much to configure and you're good to go! Now jumping to the last assignment to finish week 5 🚀🙌🎉
