Minimum Task: Here are the micro tactics that I was able to come up with. Implementing this will be super helpful in combatting my procrastination and any distractions to my focus while studying.

Minimum: I identified pride and sloth as my two biggest sins. For me, I feel like these two are competing with each other. I have to still dig deeper to find out the why of a lot of the questions in the purpose process which is something I'm not sure I know how to tackle.

Minimum: I procrastinated and didn't study cell biology today because I wanted to get some other administrative things done, like responding to emails and filling out surveys. I think a way to increase my urgency for actually studying according to my study plan is to regularly check in with myself by setting mini-testing dates for myself for the different learning objectives in all my classes. Moderate:

Minimum Task: I studied today according to the plan that I made yesterday. I reviewed macromolecules for biochemistry and NMR spectroscopy for organic chemistry. It was not easy for me but I did my best to write down what I remembered without looking at any learning aids or PowerPoint slides. This was hard and foreign to me. Unfortunately, I did not end up studying cell biology today but I moved that to tomorrow instead (but I'm proud I studied two subjects). Medium Task: I did not rewrite any of the annotations or notes from the lecture slides while studying. I hope that I can keep this up because I could feel that I was using more brain capacity to retrieve the information from my memory. Hard Task: I failed my physics midterm in my second semester of university. I didn't know what to do and I genuinely thought that there was nothing I could have done to do better. I realize now that isn't the case though because I know I have a habit of blaming my circumstances for the results I have in my life. This thinking pattern has led me to tolerate low standards in my academic and personal life, and watching the video about how we live according to our lowest standards not our highest dreams makes so much sense. I have a question for the community: How do you reframe your thinking to raise your standards and not accept one thought pattern to become your comfort zone?

1. I will plan my study sessions for the different subjects on my calendar and do my best to stick to them by implementing a reward system where I give myself a treat (like a pastry from my favourite bakery) if I can keep up with the schedule without missing more than 2 sessions consecutively. Also, I will try to test myself by picking a word from my lecture and seeing how much I know about it before delving into the real nitty gritty studying techniques. 2. l will stop rewriting my notes and focus more on understanding the concepts and details by listening to my audio recordings from lectures while reviewing the slides. I am a little hesitant to do this because a part of me just wants to rewrite everything and memorize it all, but rote learning has not worked for me in the past. There is some fear in the uncomfortable nature of doing something new. I hope I can overcome this fear. 3.
