I encounter this when I am trying to ask my husband where he stands with God. He puts up a wall I tell him there is no correct answer I just want to know does he believe in God does he identify with atheism. I always get a I donβt know answer. I get discouraged because I just want to know where his heart is.
@Katie Johnson I just finished it! I only got thru half of it before our therapy session. Funny the topic came up if you stoke your husbands efforts when he does something that you want him to do you think it would help him to continue that behavior? because it would make him aware that I appreciated it.? my response; if itβs something I have asked him to do and I say Thankyou so much that really means a lot to me ect. He may actually get upset that Iβm still bringing up the topic that he does not want to do. Different than if I stroke his efforts in doing something that he enjoys doing ( making a nice steak praise Jesus!) and I appreciated it. So the manipulation to change is exactly what I brought up to our therapist. I said it will not work in my favor. Jeromy has been asked to try to do the thing to honor me in love that he does not enjoy doing ( washing hands and mouth wash after smoking various things) . Smells get me! I am still waiting to see if he truly wants this commitment to honor and cherish each other to stop pretending to be married and actually join as one. To be continued!
As far as I know I am a first generation Christian in my family tree, my son is high functioning autistic and my husband is loved but unsaved. πππ
